First things first, I have officially FINISHED EXAMS = aka the crazy-library/law-induced-madness is over. No more sleepless nights or cramming study situations – well until next semester – but we shall cross that 73643-page-taxation-law-textbook-bridge when we get there – until then – I’ve been celebrating all sorts of little victories with late night ice-cream runs and funky outfit combos.
From suburbia strolling to outfit-of-the-day shooting, this weekend was all kinds of good times. My babe-of-a-best friend/fellow-culinary-adventurist Katarina and I headed down to Mr. Miyagi in Chapel st, Windsor for a night of Japanese-fusion dining and white chocolate cold drip espresso Martini sipping [best in town just FYI]. With a line out the door and around the corner, literally (and I actually mean literally), 7 nights a week, this place really is da best for all things modern, delicious and cheeky, as #MrMSays.
First things first, my sincerest apologies for my unplanned ten-day hiatus, between enjoying the summertime sunshine, preparing myself for a busy year ahead and spending one too many summer evenings sipping Rosé by sunset, I managed to temporarily forget about the whole blog thing, ya know? Totally normal right? Right. BUT I am back, with zero intentions to disappear again anytime soon!
With 2015 coming to a close, I wanted to swing by real quick this evening to share with you how I’ll be bringing in the New Year come midnight this Thursday. Bubbles are sort of always my drink of choice, and the fact that these ones come in a pretty somewhat New Years Eve inspired bottle is sort of just a bonus. Yep. Brown Brothers’, you totally get me and my need for all things blush, feminine and totally chic. This year you’ll find me popping one of these bad boys from my friend’s balcony somewhere in between the crazy cool fireworks show and taking a million and one snaps with my nearest and dearest babes
Inspired by Melbourne’s hot-then-cold-kidding-actually-hot-no-really-just-cold weather situation, I styled three different outfits using my new cotton Kenzo Print Jumper purchased from Farfetch, all with different occasions in mind. Come 6PM Melbourne-time, this light-cotton statement jumper may come in handy (yes, even in Summer) so here are a few ways you can style it!
SO – I have arrived! To the island of palm trees, crinkled tees, cool breeze & sunsets for daiz; a place where serious, and I mean serious, shopping is prioritized over beaching and smashed avo is replaced with bowls of street fruit, trusted from ‘hole-in-the-wall’-like places. So yeah – it is totally my kind of place. Besides the lack of smashed avo. I’m totally not about that. Either way – Honolulu, Hawaii is sort of everything I was hoping for and some. I’ve been channeling some serious bra-less beach-vibes and opting for simple silks and cotton tees, instead of my usual crisp white shirt/mum-jean-situation. I don’t usually like denim cut-offs, but I’ve been making a few exceptions there too. Perhaps it is the island; influencing all sorts of sartorial changes, either way – I am totally going with it.
As the unofficial, self-proclaimed shirt kweeeen of Instagram/life, whenever I find a new shirt brand (particularly one of the high quality, 100% silk variety), I really can’t help but get entirely around it. So, well, you can only imagine my excitement when I recently discovered the brand The Fable. The lux, newly launched shirt label offers a variety of my favourite Spring hues and patterns, at a ridiculously reasonable price, and if you’ve been following along on Instagram recently, you would probably know that I am kind of all about these apricot/blush/tonal hues at the mo (read: Blush is the new black, I repeat – BLUSH is the new BLACK), so The Fable really could not have come at a better time.
