GOOD EVENING EVERYONE! Tonight I wanted to share with you a few things I am currently all about in a ridiculously big way – so without further ado:
GOOD EVENING EVERYONE! Moving away from my usual go-to men’s tees, shirts, oversized denim & monochrome, today’s coffee, then bloggers lunch, followed by afternoon meeting called for a little somethin’ different. Switching my usual gold details for something a little more silver-inspired, I paired my latest Italian luxury neoprene LouBay piece with some crazy oversized sleeves, a buttoned denim mini and my favourite biker-boots. I really love the size, shape and feel of this LouBay piece and the silver detailing gives it a little extra somethin’ without detracting from its usual everyday wearability. Ya feel me ladies?! Perhaps I’ve found my new LBB*
As a half Gemini-half-Cancer (whatever that even means…) my personality, and thus sense of style encompasses all sorts of craziness. As someone who dresses almost entirely with their mood of the day/hour (cue Gemini – I often experience multiple moods per day), it’s almost impossible to put into words what exactly IS my ‘personal style’, as, well, it’s always changing, developing, rotating – but there are a few things that are inherently ME and have been for as long as I can remember.
I cannot believe it is already the beginning of a new season! Summer came and went and my tan has already begun to fade (…well, peel). So before I totally bid my farewells to the warmer months, I decided to make some summer inspired, bright colourful cupcakes in collaboration with Nespresso’s newest Decaffeinato blends. As someone who has always embraced a fully caffeinated coffee, I originally questioned my need for the newest decaf pods, but after eating more cupcakes than I’d like to admit (…seriously, like don’t even ask), I was thanking my lucky stars these babies were caffeine free, as I would’ve been up all night (…thus giving me more time to, well, eat the entirety of them…). Plus, this [unfortunately] also meant I was able to share the raspberry-icing cupcakes with my little cousins… Who, to be fair, LOVED THEM. Best. Babysitter. Ever.
Firstly, apologies for my lack of blogging-attendance/posting – University is starting back in a couple of weeks and I am attempting to somewhat squeeze as much fun as possible out of what is left of these holidays in pure hope that the memories I create will make at the very least, the first few weeks back, marginally bearable. I am not holding my breath though. Fourth year, Commerce/Law. I’m-a need all the luck I can get. But moving along to far more interesting things like these two FRESH looks I put together in collaboration with Komma The Label Part II. I am kind of obsessed with this label because all their pieces are so interesting and different, whilst still sticking to a monochromatic, simplistic colour palette. I particularly love the grey top/dress in LOOK ONE as due to the splits through the piece, it gives it an edgy, yet dressy feel. This is a look I am totally ALL about. And as for LOOK TWO, well, I feel like it speaks for itself. When is a sheer black shirt worn over distressed-denim jeans ever a bad idea? Exactly.
…And as if it was only yesterday (…or seven days to be exact), I am back flying through the white fluffy clouds, thousands of feet above the beautiful ocean I spent my entire week getting lost in… As I fly back to the concrete jungle I call home, I am left with some of the fondest, most magical memories from my little beach getaway, from laughing with (…really just at) my family at all the ridiculous things they do, to waking up every single morning at 6am (something I would usually NEVER EVER dream of doing…) to watch the sunrise, drink coffee and eat chocolate croissants at my morning favourite, serendipitously called ‘Wonderland’ and lastly sipping coconuts by the beach until the sun falls completely into the water and all I am left with is bronzed (often burnt) skin, messy damp hair and sand in places where there should never be sand…
GOOD EVENING wonderful people! On arrival to Noosa we were greeted with somewhat of a questionable weather climate (nonstop rotation between tropical rain & sun shining bright like a diamond… Rihanna who?); I was starting to panic that I had taken Melbourne’s ridiculous weather with me all the way to Sunshine Coast… and then THIS DAY (today/bit of yesterday) HAPPENED!! AND IT IS AMAZING.
From brunch with a babe, to beaching in style (…aka coconuts, jewels & spontaneously picked flowers…), I was pretty eager to rush home from a day at the beach to give my newest Bambi & Sammi Hair Masque a whirl. Having heard good things, you can only image my naturally curly [really just frizzy], but always straightened hair and me, were hoping for some shine, rejuvenation, maybe even a little extra bounce (?) and luckily enough – Bambi & Sammi; you cheeky babes did not disappoint. Hair felt fresh & fabulous. Only problem is – I’ve already run out!
How many slips does it take to create an outfit? The answer to that my dear friends – is two. It takes two slips. Who would have thought double-slipping, with a side of freshly picked sunflowers could feel so good? Add a few too many beautifully hand-made pieces from the Melbourne based jewellery line Brother Billy, and someone way better than Bob will be your uncle (in fact Billy may even be your Brother?!) – either way you’ll be feeling GOOD and looking mighty fine!
Something I learnt very early on in life as a self-proclaimed fashionista, is that when in doubt (…or perhaps when a fight with your wardrobe spontaneously erupts) always, and I mean always, opt for monochromatic styles with a side of vintage. There is a very calculated reason why this is so, firstly, if you are fighting with your wardrobe, chances are – you are going to make bad outfit choices; you’ll start chucking everything on from all over the place in a panic to try create the perfect outfit, and my dear fashionable friend, you will fail. Miserably. So simply drop that colourful scarf, that statement skirt and the questionable hat you bought on sale, and pick out a simple, stylish black & white situation to drape over your frazzled self.
