Lady In Fire-Engine-Red

If this is the first you are hearing about the ‘colour of the season‘ being fire-engine-red/mulberry/burgundy, then you’ve probably been living under a very-unfashionable-rock… That or I guess maybe you did not attend VAMFF earlier this month. Either way, these colours are seriously everything and indeed everywhere right now. Fire engine red is, as far as I am concerned, always in fashion. It may have its moments some seasons more than others, but the colour is a true staple and style classic. All the colour tones and varieties surrounding bright red however are super A/W ’17 and definitely the main colour palette heading down the runway this season.

Colour and the City

Today I spent the entire day (I am talking 9-5 people) working on my ridiculous amount of assessment tasks all due within the next 3-5 days. (…Every semester I become increasingly suspicious –does my University purposely plan to make all my assignments due on the exact same weekend? Do they think this is some kind of joke? Because I assure you, I, and all the other students who haven’t slept since last week, are not laughing…) Anyways after writing, re-writing, re-wording, deleting, starting again, stopping, drinking too much coffee, and eventually just giving up and watching the Bachelor* instead… I finally completed 1 of my 1 million assessment tasks today…

Hats, Culture & Brunch

How to ‘Hats, Culture & Brunch’ like a pro –

  • Step 1: Position yourself in a cultural Melbourne setting; preferably choose a location which has lots of street-art/graffiti – this helps get you in the mood for your super cultural, super indy/arty adventure day.
  • Step 2: Ensure that your ‘Fedora-situation’ is up to scratch – I suggest going with a dark purple/maroon/grey/beige colour; this adds a ‘lil-something’ without distracting from the already-fabulous, flawless outfit.
  • Step 3: Choose a suitable Brunch spot (preferably in the vicinity of the cultural Melbourne setting), where whipping our your DSLR camera will appear somewhat normal and any judgment from innocent bystanders will be minimal
  • Step 4: Pick a friend who wholeheartedly supports and even encourages your love of hats, culture & brunch (perhaps this friend shares common interests and/or just really, really loves you…). Drag your chosen buddy around with you and make them take photos of you in as many locations and positions as possible (variety and versatility is key!)

Monochrome Me Pretty

After a ridiculously exhausting week of running all over the place from attending classes, to coffee dates to office life to endeavouring ‘not to use my home like a hotel’ [quote father] it was safe to say I needed a few effortless fashion basics to get me through all this craziness… (please note: there was no actual running involved in this week, and any reference to running is purely metaphorical and should not be taken literally).
