With the Spring Racing Festival only a week or so away, I wanted to share with you how I will be celebrating the racing season this year with Marks & Spencer. Having been a huge fan of Marks & Spencer for some time now, I absolutely love how they quite literally have everything you’d ever need for any kind of occasion. As I am always looking for a cheeky little excuse to throw a picnic (…read: eat cheese and drink wine), I was able to order all the necessary picnic essentials to create the perfect picnic all from the Marks & Spencer online store! From my velvet & lace race-ready slip dress to the gorgeous sterling silver tray and gold sequined throw (used as a chic alternative to a picnic rug), they literally have everything.
Having only just gotten back from Noosa early this week, settling back into Melbourne-freezing-cold-life has been somewhat of a struggle and as such, I plan to live vicariously through my own images for the next – say – 3 to 5 months – just until my frosty fingers have regained heat* and/or the sunshine comes back in Melbourne – whatever comes first will do.
First things first, I have officially FINISHED EXAMS = aka the crazy-library/law-induced-madness is over. No more sleepless nights or cramming study situations – well until next semester – but we shall cross that 73643-page-taxation-law-textbook-bridge when we get there – until then – I’ve been celebrating all sorts of little victories with late night ice-cream runs and funky outfit combos.
From suburbia strolling to outfit-of-the-day shooting, this weekend was all kinds of good times. My babe-of-a-best friend/fellow-culinary-adventurist Katarina and I headed down to Mr. Miyagi in Chapel st, Windsor for a night of Japanese-fusion dining and white chocolate cold drip espresso Martini sipping [best in town just FYI]. With a line out the door and around the corner, literally (and I actually mean literally), 7 nights a week, this place really is da best for all things modern, delicious and cheeky, as #MrMSays.
GOOD EVENING EVERYONE! For today’s media launch, flower pick-up & acai bowl situation (courtesy of Green Cup), I was unintentionally channelling all sorts of ‘Greece-lightening’-vibes, with this off the shoulder Pasduchas blush top and high waisted black skinny jeans. I went with a minty green Reebok sneaker from Glue Store to add a point of difference and my personalised black bucket bag from The Daily Edited to bring the look together… that and well, I carry everything (…yes, including the kitchen sink) in my bag, so the oversized bucket aspect is all kinds of necessary.
GOOD EVENING EVERYONE! Just swinging by real quick tonight to share with you a few bits and bops I’m totally getting around as of late. With the sun setting onto a new week, I’m feeling alarmingly inspired by my usual gold & blush details and the pastel views of Palm Cove beach. Having never, not once started a morning without a strong, hot coffee, my newest tea ware set from Cristina Re is adding all sorts of delight to my desk/mess situation. The gold detailing and crisp white is simply divine and everything I needed in my life.
With Christmas only a few days away, I have a few little things I want to share with you! From easy to bake (even for me!) Christmas-inspired shortbread to other foody family traditions, but before that, here is my easy-breezy, budget-friendly Christmas Day outfit. Inspired by the magical European WHITE CHRISTMAS, I figured if not geographically possible, I’d make it fashionably possible. As I prepare to melt on Christmas Day (35 degrees… not chic), I’ve put together an outfit that should hopefully keep me somewhat cool without taking away from the whole fashion thing. Oh, and I say budget friendly, as well, the entire outfit [minus accessories] is from Forever New!
Ahh… Melbourne Spring Fashion Week, seven whole days of nothing but nonstop outfit changes, running from event to event, eating (or sometimes not eating) at the strangest of times, and unintentionally collecting an alarming amount of identical goodie bags… Although demanding, extravagant and ridiculously draining, it was easily the best week of my entire year and as such, I kind of wouldn’t have had it any other way (#VAMFF I am totally ready for you).
As a self proclaimed (…and proud) Melbourne coffee-snob, I don’t usually talk much about my tea drinking habits, so much so, that this somewhat excessive tea-drinking behaviour is something I only really share with myself and those closest to me. This is mainly because I would never go out to a café and order a tea – a café does not know how I like my teabag to be dunked, a café does not understand the importance of a 2-5 minute infuse, but more than anything, a café does not have a deliciously excessive collection of Madame Flavour Tea Treats & French Adventures on offer, and as such, all my closet tea drinking ways are confined to the four walls I call home (a cozy little space also known as my bedroom). PLUS Madame Flavour recently collaborated with Smiling Mind, and now there is this funky little app you can use to nourish your mind, body and soul whilst your tea is infusing. I am totally all about this, as well – tea time is me time. Am I right people?!
