As the unofficial, self-proclaimed shirt kweeeen of Instagram/life, whenever I find a new shirt brand (particularly one of the high quality, 100% silk variety), I really can’t help but get entirely around it. So, well, you can only imagine my excitement when I recently discovered the brand The Fable. The lux, newly launched shirt label offers a variety of my favourite Spring hues and patterns, at a ridiculously reasonable price, and if you’ve been following along on Instagram recently, you would probably know that I am kind of all about these apricot/blush/tonal hues at the mo (read: Blush is the new black, I repeat – BLUSH is the new BLACK), so The Fable really could not have come at a better time.
A STYLE TIP and something I’ve been doing (…and babbling on about!) for as long as I can remember is the idea of mixing the casual with the dressy, the expensive with the inexpensive, and the designer with the vintage. In fact, the more dramatic the mix; THE BETTER.
If there was ever a day I was going to entirely embrace the whole ‘I’m-totally-feminine-floral-delicate-and-incredibly-girly’, it was the day of the Melbourne Racing Club, BMW Caulfield Cup. With spring in the air, sun in the sky, and pink blooms decking out the entire David Jones Marquee, I was indeed the perfect level of girly.
TOMORROW aka 11 OCTOBER 2015, I am literally (sort of, but like not really…) selling my entire wardrobe/floor-drobe at the THRIFTY FASHIONISTA MARKET at Westfield Southland.
With spring apparently here (current weather situation: raining), it’s apparently time to shed them thick, chunky layers and opt for lighter, thinner layers. As a self-confessed, professional onion-er (onioner/onioning: ability to successfully layer several items of clothing in a fashionable, on-trend way. In a sentence: ‘Wow, fantastic onioning’), I couldn’t wait to play around with Decjuba’s new spring collection! With lots of oversized tees, distressed denim and different shades of grey making a statement in store and online, I knew there would be plenty of opportunities to let my onion abilities shine.
Well, HELLO! First things first*, apologies for my totally unplanned 10-day hiatus! With an alarming amount of assignments, exams and other academic expectations looming over me, I’ve barely had time to breathe let along blog, but I’m glad to be back – be it, somewhat temporary (current exam situation: t-minus 2.5 weeks). ANYWAYS – moving on to far more important things like elegant fashion necessities and such.
With Fathers Day just around the corner, I thought it best that I team up with Braun Büffel to give you the low-down, the 411, the-insider-goss… or something like that, on what exactly to buy your papabear, daddy-yo, the-old-man or as we like to call my dad; ‘Fredos’ and/or ‘Freddy’.
As most of you would know, fashion and lifestyle blogging has somewhat recently become a big part of my daily existence. Finding insta-worthy locations to shoot my outfits and other crazy antics around Melbourne is an important task, and one that should not be overlooked! I’ll often spend time scouting locations in Melbourne before I unload my car boot filled with clothes, shoes and bags and commit to a location (usually of the white wall, funky door and/or leafy green variety). So with a chunky DLSR in one hand and my honey Carissa from Design by Aikonik in the other, we spent the weekend discovering some of the most insta-worthy photo shoot locations in Melbourne. And as such, I have created somewhat of a visual guide/step-by-step situation below that will hopefully be of assistance next time your outfit is totally on point and you need to snap a picture of it on the ASAP.
