Black Ankle Boots, Always & Forever

I have always had a real thing for black ankle boots, particularly the pointed toe, slightly heeled, 100% genuine leather kind. I tend to wear them literally all year round. Whether this is because I am just not really a sandal/thong-kind-of-gal, or rather that I actually enjoy having uncomfortably hot feet in summer – either way, you’d have a hard time finding a day of the week I’m not in boots. I think I just love what black boots do to an outfit. It doesn’t really matter what you’re wearing;  a black boot will always give the look a slightly more edgy, masculine feel, which has always been a big element of my personal style. Especially on days where I feel like wearing a more girly dress, or ruffled details – black boots will dress down the look to make it a bit cooler and more me.

I thought I would style two of my favourite new pairs of black ankle boots, to show you how easily boots with a bit more detail can be paired back with items you already have in your wardrobe. The first look features a boot from Freya & Sabine , I love the Celine-esque studded detailing as a point of difference and the dark brown heel adds an interesting element to the style of shoe. I paired the look back with a simple, straight leg blue denim jean, white shirt worn differently, and a men’s oversized blazer. This is a super easy to replicate look, created with items I already have in my wardrobe.

The second look is a monochrome all-black-everything look. I wanted to go for a rougher, almost biker feel with this look (even though these boots could be styled a million different other ways). I really love the shiny texture of the Zoe Kratzmann boots, as it is a fresh take on the chelsea boot. Plus, I think the boots would look really great during winter with a tonal long-line coat, turtleneck and straight-leg jeans. I added the burgundy bag for a pop of colour to the look, and kept all other accessories to a minimal.

I’D LOVE TO KNOW WHICH LOOK YOU LIKE BETTER! LET ME KNOW BELOW!
