Saturday Morning began bright and early with a quick coffee run, roadside strawberry pick-up and road-trip playlist as we headed up to Ballarat for the weekend with Visit Ballarat tourism.
Having arrived at Ballarat by midday we headed over to Mitchell Harris Wine Bar for a bite to eat and a splash of bubbles and vino. If you ever visit the restaurant bar (which I highly recommend that you do…), order the cheese platter, and potato, cheese and garlic pizza. Both delicious – both taste sensational with a couple of glasses of wine.
After this, we visited Sweet Fern for a perfume class, where we played around with different scents and smells that tickled our fancy (or senses for that matter) over some bubbles and Turkish delights.
The night ended at Restaurant Ballarat, located at Housey Housey. Here we were presented with an absolute feast of flavours – from pork belly sliders to the best quince Tarte Tartin desserts I’ve ever had. With a room filled with food bloggers and the like – it was hard to talk about anything but good food & wine.
We awoke early for a final feast at Yellow Espresso – Ballarat’s hottest brunch spot, where I had my usual acai and espresso fix (both equally delicious), before heading back to Melbourne.
Thank you Visit Ballarat for an absolutely delightful weekend away! We will be back again soon!
