GOOD EVENING EVERYONE! With checkered shirts frequently popping in and out of fashion, it is important to know how to avoid the cowgirl/rodeo-look (unless you are intending that look – in which case, I recommend doing the exact opposite of what is described below). Here are a few tips, which may be of some assistance:
ONE: Ensure your shirt is of high quality (may I recommend my favourite shirt brand; CAMIXA SHIRTS), as unintentional holes and rips will leave you looking like you’re about to mount a mechanical bull… not chic.
TWO: DO wear skintight black/white/blue denim jeans; DON’T wear cropped ripped-denim booty shorts
THREE: If you happen to have one lying around (…or something of that nature), pop on a flawlessly vintage designer bag (this one is my mums!) to add a high fashion, I’m-totally-a-celebrity-or-something-like-that element to your look
FOUR: DO leave a few buttons at the top and bottom of the shirt undone, for a purposefully disheveled look and embrace the natural flow and feel of your shirt. AKA be one with your shirt.
FIVE: DO embrace any and/or all sunshine situations, whether the weather is actually warm or not (on this particular day – it just so happened to be freezing; just saying) and if the opportunity presents itself ALWAYS take a moment to shamelessly snap a few pics of your outfit, checkered shirt and all. Because, what is fashion if it’s not to be shared with the world?!
I HOPE YOU ARE ALL HAVING AN AMAZING WEEKEND!
