Pretty-Foody-Things

Days where I am not running ’round town trying to find Melbourne’s best brew or the perfect smashed avo and feta on toast, I am busy cooking up a storm in the kitchen…And by ‘cooking’ what I actually mean is I can make salads, smoothies, and the occasional self-assembled sandwich… But we will attend to my cooking abilities (or lack thereof) in due course. Here is a compilation of all the pretty-foody things that come out of my kitchen when I am supposed to be studying but find myself procrasti-eating/cooking/baking instead… Enjoy *x

There is no better cure to the winter blues than eating fresh colourful fruit and veggies. This is a fruit-vegetable-nut salad I whipped up whilst watching something starring Hugh Grant and drinking far too much green tea (I have an abnormal obsession with over-hydrating and all things tea related)

This was a quick greek-lunch inspired meal I put together using left over calamari and roasted vegetables that I found in the fridge. I added the ricotta, shredded carrot and rocket for colour and extra nutrients. I’d like to say I ate this whilst watching ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding’ and speaking to my ‘Yiayia’ on the phone, but, well… that would be lie.

This is a smoothie bowl. Pretty much it is just an all-berry smoothie put into a bowl instead of a glass, sprinkled with chia seeds, muesli, goji berries and banana. Purple is my favourite colour so as you can imagine, I really enjoyed eating this one.

I hope these photos provided you with some food-spiration, some light entertainment and perhaps even some new brunch-time ideas… x
**NOTE to self… probably should work on reducing the amount of hyphenated words I use per post.

  2. Beautiful looking smoothie Jessica. My big fat Greek wedding is one of my favorites. I especially love the conversation between mother and daughter, when the mom says ‘ If a man is the head of the family, woman is the neck. She can turn him any way she likes ‘. Can’t help chuckling every time I remember it 😁

  3. I speak “things”, thingies and thing-a-mabobs. You look as though you have a bright future ahead of you as you embark on your “Bib Adventure”. Be sure to bring along a picnic basket. 🙂

Those are my kind of food platters (and great photos).
Keep that food intake up and your skin & body will love you forever into old age.
Don’t forget the exercise (like a brisk walk down the St Kilda esplanade & pier).
