Days where I am not busy attempting to learn the importance of property law or where I am not working in an office as a paralegal pretending I am Rachel Zane (note: if you don’t understand this reference… your life has not yet begun… go and download the first season of ‘Suits’ immediately)… I like to explore the inner city suburbs of Melbourne. I put together what is almost like a photo-diary of some of the things I saw, drank and visited in Melbourne yesterday… Enjoy x
In the Morning… I visited Admiral Cheng-Ho café in Johnston St, Abbotsford. This place is very rustic and small, so if you can secure a spot by the window, the view out to Johnston Street is lovely.
In the Afternoon… I headed to Smith Street for some food at Rockwell and Sons. I recommend the ‘Double Patty Smash Burger’ and the old fashion homemade Lemon soda (or any of their soda’s for that matter!). The décor and interior is very ‘Smith Street’ and exactly what the afternoon called for.
Whilst in Smith Street, make sure you check out some of the vintage boutiques and art galleries. I fell in love instantly with this beautiful painting in one of the art galleries.
In the evening… A couple of girlfriends and I headed to Lygon Street. We went to Brunetti Café/ Restaurant for coffee, ice-cream and sweets before we watched ‘The Lunchbox’ at Cinema Nova.
Cinema Nova is known for showing cultural-indy movies with lots of subtitles so if you are into that sort of thing, I definitely recommend visiting the old-fashioned movie theatre for an international film.
